There is no getting away from it; we are where we are because of the choices we made in the past. Just think! if we changed just one of our choices we may be in a different place with different people!
But we are who we are, and that means that faced with opportunities and possibilities, it is our choices that decide our future pathway. Now it is true that there are some things in our life that we have not instigated and which impacts on our life; such as illness, job loss and redundancy. But in the end, what really matters is how we choose to deal with these. How we react is really a matter of choice. If I have just lost my job I can choose to be angry and depressed, or I can be angry and determined. I can be pessimistic about my future or I can choose to be optimistic; whatever, the decision is mine.
Accepting that we are responsible for our own outcomes is what separates adults from children. It is the great leap forward into becoming mature adults. Failing to accept responsibility leads to the blame game – it’s always someone or something else’s fault, so that all the stuff which is going on in my life is never my fault.
Unfortunately, that is just evading the real responsibility. Accepting that you, and you alone are completely responsible for yourself, and realising that probably there is not going to be a knight in shining armour riding a white horse to rescue you is the beginning of forging a positive future. There is nothing you cannot do if you accept the old saying “If it is to be, then it is up to me.”
If you accept that you are responsible for your choices and if you believe that you can positively effect change in your life: then you have grasped the Key to Success.
Your thoughts are extremely powerful, they have the power to raise and lower your blood pressure. They can increase your pulse rate and in extreme cases can make you sick.
And the simple truth is that only you can think your thoughts. It is you that decides what aspects of the situation you will dwell on. It is your choice to be happy, sad, angry or resigned about it. It is you that decides, there is no getting away from it – you are responsible for the outcomes.
So if we can choose how we react, how can we train ourselves to react in the most positive way to ensure a positive outcome? We need to understand the Law of Cause and Effect. Socrates was the first to consider this basic law of human life more than 400 years before the Common Era. What he stated was that for every effect on your life there is a cause and if there is any effect that you desire, if you trace it back to its cause and then duplicate the cause, you will achieve the effect again.
So why not learn more about how negative thinking may be the cause that is holding you back from the effect of desired success. Find out how to instigate powerful rituals for change in your life; and create your very own plan for success which you can put into effect immediately.
Positive Thinking is the Key to Success, and the first step is taking ownership of your life by accepting that you are responsible for everything you say and do. The next step is to make a decision to improve your ability to make positive choices. The third step is putting that decision into action by enrolling in a Positive Thinking Course with Trischel.
